Reducing your CO²

The ideas we suggest to reduce your fleet’s carbon footprint have been implemented in our own fleet, these include:

Reduction tips:
	Reducing the number of face-to-face training and presentation sessions and instead using online video conferencing
	Car sharing where staff are undertaking similar routes at similar times
	Weekly team journey planning - again including car sharing and also grouping appointments regionally
	Driver audit and training - reviewing fuel consumption and looking at vehicle wear and tear - increased servicing and higher fuel usage are key indicators that drivers require driver training. Additionally, higher fuel and wear and tear costs often go hand in hand with an increased number of driving incidents
	Re-structure your company car list - offering drivers vehicle choices that factor in the Government carbon emission figures

In measuring the CFC fleet we used our own CO² Report Generator, a recent feature added to our Fleet Plus fleet management software.

The CO² Report Generator interfaces with Fleet Plus to produce carbon output figures providing everything from a high level fleet overview to single drivers and individual vehicles.

Using manufacturer CO² figures for each vehicle, the software calculates the carbon footprint figures based on information recorded about journeys and vehicle use.

The system can even be set up to suggest where alternative forms of transport such as the train or other public transport may result in a lower carbon output than using a company vehicle for a specific journey.
